The Devil's Millhopper

The Devil's Millhopper is a TTRPG setting and adventure with a town, a forest pointcrawl, a dungeon, and factions. It also features opportunities for foreground growth (objects, decisions, rituals, and monsters that can alter an adventurer, potentially forever).

The Devil's Millhopper is a sinkhole full of bones, treasures, and monsters. The mysterious Poison Devil has escaped from it and begun hunting the residents of La Chua and the Mining Company that has recently started a mining operation. Contend with the moss-eaters, the denizens of the tree-tops; shape-shifting cougars; talking raccoons; alligators; monsters made of moss; edible moss with magical effects; dryads; and the goons hired by the Mining Company.

This adventure was built for Cairn but may be adapted to other systems.

• Multiple factions with competing interests, secrets, and schemes
• A colorful cast of characters and creatures (like talking raccoons and little birds that pop in and out of space-time and gators that can deathroll your arms off!)
• Like 30 pages or so, US letter format (8.5 x 11 inches)
• Loops and multiple entrances to the dungeon
• A pointcrawl style forest with 14 locations to explore
• Town with randomizable townsfolk with secrets and rumors
• Useful plants, including moss with random effects
• Random tables for rumors, townsfolk (with secrets), miners, raccoon names, items brought through space-time, and junk found in the sinkhole
• Items, rituals, monsters, and decisions that can alter adventurers forever
